Attending workshops and continuing to educate yourself is essential in dog training. Last week, we had the incredible opportunity to travel to Utah for a 5-day intensive workshop with two industry leaders, Jason Loong of Canine by Design and Justin Rigney of K-9 Services Unlimited. The workshop focused on advanced decoy technical training for sleeve and bite suit work, with an emphasis on techniques beyond the bite, specifically targeting working and sport dogs.
This experience completely transformed my understanding of how powerful a well-structured training system can be. We covered everything from mastering power bites to seamlessly switching between prey drive and aggression. I gained invaluable insights into reading dogs on multiple levels, building a dog’s drive, and increasing speed and power with both heart and soul.
Meeting and learning from such talented trainers and decoys was truly inspiring. I’m excited to share this knowledge with the dog training community in Lincoln, and Omaha, NE. Whether you’re working with pet dogs, or need puppy training, the techniques I’ve learned will bring fresh, dynamic approaches to training that truly work.
